DUE TO PA REGULATIONS, SAME DAY ADOPTIONS WILL NOT OCCUR TODAY AT PETAPALOOZA!
From our Volunteer Executive Director, Michelle Auman
Hi, and thank you for attending Petapalooza! This past year has been such a growth experience for both myself and our organization. We’ve become a 501c3 and got a few new Planning Committee members, which is awesome! It takes a team to put on an event of this size, and I am truly thankful for every member of my wonderful staff. We get “paid” in puppy kisses which I love.
I’ve learned so much since stepping into Bitsy’s shoes! I need to applaud Bitsy for all the years she ran Petapalooza because it is a TON of work. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s a labor of lov,e and I am grateful to be able to help as many animals as possible, but she deserves major credit for her years of service. Thank you, Bitsy McCann, from the bottom of my heart, you are a priceless gem.
I LOVE animals, and I’m very committed to Petapalooza. I am literally always working no matter where I go or what I’m doing. I walk around handing out business cards constantly, always looking for rescues/vendors/sponsors. I don’t think I have an "off switch" when it comes to helping animals. I encourage you adopt, spay/neuter your animal companions, and treat them with the respect that they deserve. In return, you will receive joy, laughter, and unconditional love.
Leo’s Cool Zone (CZ on the festival map) was created by Paul (one of committee members) in order to help cool down the dogs when it’s hot for the festival. The dogs LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Seeing the glee on their faces when they jump into the swimming pools or just stand there enjoying the cool mists from above is a lot of fun to watch. When the Huskies arrive, it is a takeover of the tent in the best way possible.
Some of our human guests have also decided this is a great place to relax a bit and escape the heat, so the tent was expanded to accommodate this! The CZ has become a vital part of the festival, and we are constantly thinking up ways to improve the experience.
This year, we’ve partnered with Dogtopia to provide a play area for the all dogs, and it allows our furry family members to socialize without leashes. A bubble machine has been added, let’s see what hijinx this will add to K9 Activity area!
I hope you enjoy the festival and plan to come back next year!

From our Furry Friend at Central Penn College
What’s up, my fellow furry and flying friends? It’s good to see so many of you here in the company of your favorite humans. Welcome to Central Penn College for Petapalooza!
My name is Oakley, and I’m a Weimaraner. My favorite human is Dr. Linda Fedrizzi-Williams, president of the college. We’re excited that you’re here for a fun day of music, food, and learning. There’s plenty to explore, sniff and eat on our beautiful grounds.
I’m looking forward to meeting many of you, as I make the rounds looking for the best handmade treats as well as a new chew toy. For those of you who came from shelters and rescues, I hope you make a new friend or two, including a new favorite human.
When Dr. Fedrizzi-Williams is happy, I am one happy dog! And she is very happy Central Penn College contributes to the community and changes students’ lives. Your human can read more about my home away from home. Just nudge him or her to log onto www.centralpenn.edu on one of those crazy devices with the glowing screen. Enjoy sniffing around campus!
